Requirements

WHY BAP?

 

Beta Alpha Psi is truly a place where opportunity is embraced, as evidenced by the wide variety of activities members are involved in on a yearly basis. Its commitment to programming, networking, and community involvement serves as the foundation in which members gain valuable leadership skills that help set the tone for careers after graduation. Those skills, coupled with the opportunity to interact with faculty, employers, and peers in a unique and informative way are what sets the organization apart and makes it both worthwhile and fulfilling.

REQUIREMENTS 

 

Students seeking to be a candidate are expected to:

  • Obtain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0+

  • Have declared a concentration in:

    • Accounting

    • Finance

    • Computer Information Systems

  • Graduation should not be within the semester you first join BAP

  • See members responsibility (listed below)

 

Students seeking to be initiated in our chapter are expected to:

  • Meet candidate requirements (listed above)

  • Maintain a good standing status with BAP for two semesters

  • Have successfully completed at least one upper-level course beyond the business core

 

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY

To be considered a candidate in good standing in each semester, you are expected to complete:

  • 9 General Meetings 

  • 3 Professional Events: Professional event hours include activities of a professional nature, including Meet The Firms, Fall Awards, Regional Meetings, and Annual Meetings

  • 2 Social Event (SE) 

  • Community Service (CS) Hours: Community service hours includes the activities we organize or actively promote. These may include the VITA Program, LA Food Bank, Union Rescue Mission, St. Francis Center etc. *DUE TO COVID-19, PLEASE ATTEND OUR ZOOM MEETINGS FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING COMMUNITY SERVICE*

    • 1st and 2nd-semester candidates:

      • Minimum of community service hours/semester

    • 3rd + semester candidates:

      • Minimum of 5 community service hours/semester

  • Volunteer for fundraiser for 3 hours

  • Recommended to meet with a faculty adviser at least once per semester

 

***Students interested in joining BAP will need to complete the application form and submit it prior to the deadline listed below:

  • For ALL members please submit the application by March 1, 2023
