Say hello to Elio…

Elio is originally from a small town in Maryland and he chose to attend Cal State LA because he felt it offered a quality education at an affordable cost. As a first-generation college student, he was also drawn to the diverse student body that created an environment in which he felt supported in his educational goals.

Very early in his academic career, Elio realized that accounting is the language of business. He took all the accounting classes he could possibly take in high school and was drawn to the nature of the work. However, once in college, he tried other classes too such as philosophy, management and finance and eventually decided to major in accounting. His personality is drawn to problem solving and accounting fulfilled his passion for learning. He believes that an accounting degree is versatile in terms of the unlimited possibilities it offers and helps to be successful in just about anything in the business world.

In his free time, Elio likes to spend time with his girlfriend. They both love to travel and attend wrestling shows whenever possible. He is also looking forward to completing his 1969 Chevy El Camino dream car.

His favorite quote: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” – Eleanor Roosevelt.
